What is (are) Plant Budz?

They're little creatures to be raised on your virtual desktop. Everyone starts with their own literal Plant Bud, which grows and evolves based on how you interact with it. Inspired by all things 90's (virtual pets, Windows 98, videogames & software of the time), it's a silly, nostalgic romp that reimagines a virtual pet in today's world.

So, it's just a virtual pet?

Heck no! The pet simulator is a fraction of the game. Every final evolution of a pet will take you to a unique standalone "mini" game. By playing games you'll unlock tools for your desktop, additional pets, extra games, and more! Each pet has it's own unique style of play so there is plenty to replay and discover!

Woah there! It's still in development. If you'd like, you can check out the demo we've been showcasing. You can also see the original idea for the concept (both were game jam submissions). We're currently three people (sometimes a fourth) doing this outside of our day-jobs, so production can be slow at times. Currently, the estimated release is some time in Summer 2025.
